Retained Executive Search

D&A provides confidential retained search for our clients. Our process is very exact, detailed, and thorough, resulting in engagements completed in a timely fashion, with the end result being satisfied customers. 

We invoice the client in 3 or 4 billings, and the fee is either a % of the guaranteed first year compensation, including expected bonus or signing bonus, or a fixed fee, determined at the onset of the search by the client and D&A.


OUR SEARCH PROCESS:


Client Consultation

  • A meeting is held with the client to understand the company history, core values, and future opportunities
  • Together, we define the performance objectives for the new executive which we use to create a comprehensive Job Specification.

Identify Quality Candidates

  • We use the performance based Job Specification to develop a search strategy.
  • Using state of the art research methodology, candidates are identified, being mindful of the confidentiality of both the candidate and the client if necessary. (Confidential client searches are quite common).
  • Face to face interviews are conducted. With exhaustive screening and thorough insight into the candidate’s background, leadership styles, cultural fit, and their decision making process is determined. Understanding these key behavioral characteristics is important to predict future compatibility of the selected candidate with the new team.
  • Client is briefed with regular updates throughout this part of the process.

Secure the Talent

  • We present a thorough report of the results of our work, with a comprehensive overview of the top candidates.
  • If requested, Sayres is available to participate in the client interviews.

Successful Placement

  • Typically we will present the final offer and help negotiate terms.
  • Upon acceptance, start dates are determined and final arrangements are made.

Ongoing Relationship

  • Our service does not stop with the successful placement. We stay in touch to ensure the onboarding process is smooth and consistent. Because of the relational aspect of our service, clients keep coming back.
