“It’s too early to know the economic impact, but if you’ve heightened employee satisfaction, the likelihood of a company making a move [elsewhere] is diminished.”

Dudley & Associates – Year 2 of the relaunch
It has been just over one year since Dudley & Associates was rebirthed after a six-year absence. We remain a retained Executive Search firm headquartered in the Dallas area, with our primary focus in commercial real estate. We have expanded our offerings though into private equity, non-profit, EDC, sales and other general areas of search. We accomplish this by our alliance with other boutique retained search firms who specialize in those business lines. Our focus is on Director/VP level and above searches, with a model of exemplary client service and confidential candidate interaction. Please contact us if you are considering the need for an executive search.
Men and Women Agree CRE is Becoming a Better Place for Women – Just Not on the Rate of Progress

It has taken many decades but the issue of gender equality in the commercial real estate workplace has finally come to the forefront. Perhaps it was #MeToo Movement which pushed the subject into the national debate. Even more recently, the champion USWNT and their demand for equal pay has focused the conversation on inequity in sports. Many CRE companies now seem to accept that American society has embraced diversity, both gender and racial, and want it reflected in the real estate industry. Bisnow has been covering this subject for a few years and this is the latest article with their findings.

Men and Women Agree CRE is Becoming a Better Place for Women – Just Not on the Rate of Progress
By: Cameron Spearance, Bisnow Boston

Most in commercial real estate agree that the industry has made significant strides in its ongoing efforts to promote gender equality, according to a new poll. But boardrooms and C-suites remain dominated by men, and the survey, conducted by software company Apto, shows that far more men are happy with the industry’s progress than women, who overwhelmingly believe that more work needs to be done to foster an equal workplace.

Only 13% of female respondents said CRE has become a “really good” place for women compared to 45% of men who were asked the same question.

“While most respondents agreed that the industry has made improvements in the way it treats women – and this is something we should certainly celebrate – the representation of women in broker roles and leadership positions still remains low,” Apto CEO Angela Tucci said in a prepared statement.
